Get excited about the little things. About wearing a new outfit for the first time. About Sunday brunches with your best friends. About the new cute guy in your class. About finding an extra dollar in your pocket. About anything that even remotely makes you happy because as you grow up, passions fade and enthusiasm gets mistaken for foolishness. So don’t let the gray world stop you from shining.
To all those that kept me in their prayers, thank you. I received the job offer today and I will begin working with the company in a few weeks. I am excited to begin moving my life forward and achieving my dreams.
The thing is, I don’t believe in God because I’m oblivious or scared of reality. I don’t believe in God because the thought gives me comfort. I don’t believe in God because I agree with everything in the Bible on my own. I don’t believe in God because I like Christians or the church. I don’t believe in God because that’s how I was raised. I don’t believe in God because I dislike science.
I believe in God because when I was cynical, and disagreed with almost everything I heard in church, and loved the ways of the world, God proved himself to be real. And as hard as I tried, I couldn’t not believe in him.
"Maybe the greatest threat to the Church is not heresy, not dissent, not secularism, not even moral relativism, but this sanitized, feel-good, boutique, therapeutic spirituality that makes no demands, calls for no sacrifice, asks for no conversion, entails no battle against sin, but only soothes and affirms".
A healthy relationship keeps the doors and windows open. Plenty of air is circulating and no one feels trapped. Relationships thrive in this environment. Keep your doors and windows open. If this person is meant to be in your life, all the open doors and windows in the world won’t make them leave.
